The Ageing Dentition: Sharing & Caring
On 4th October, the Oral & Dental Health MCN held a one day event on shared care for older adults. The programme contained a variety of speakers, both from within and out with dentistry, plus a group discussion session on relevant scenarios. There were almost 100 attendees in total, from both PDS and GDS, and both dentists and DCPs. Copies of some of the presentations are available below:
- Iain Bovaird – Adults with incapacity
- Joan MacLeod – Polypharmacy
- David Carroll – Palliative & end of life care
- Therese Lebedis – How stroke affects the older person
A summary of the main themes that came out of the discussion groups are listed below:
Feedback was collected via evaluation forms on the day and a summary report produced. Due to the success of the day, our Education, Training & Development Group will look at what further events the MCN can host/support in 2020.
