Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 aims to promote a culture of openness and accountability among public authorities by providing people with rights of access to the information held by these organisations.  It is expected that these rights will facilitate better public understanding of how public authorities carry out their duties, why they make the decisions they do, and how they spend public money.

As a focal point for Health Improvement activity in Grampian, HI-Net hosts and provides links to documents and information for a variety of public authorities, such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Education and the Voluntary Sector. Therefore HI-Net does not “own” the information held on the site, with the exception of HI-Net specific documents (development papers, evaluation reports, steering group minutes, newsletters and articles).

HI-Net specific information is covered by NHS Grampian’s Publication Scheme.

The public authorities HI-Net works in partnership with each have their own publication schemes, and these can be viewed from the websites below:-
