Health Inequalities in Grampian Trends

Health inequality is a key determinant of the quality of life a child and adult may experience and can influence multiple aspects of an individual’s life which in turns determines how many years an individual will be live (Life Expectancy and how many years this will live in good health (Healthy Life Expectancy)

The most commonly used measure of health inequality is SIMD  (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation).

Below are examples to demonstrate the impact of differences in levels of deprivation and how it can directly influence the outcomes of the population and certain groups of individuals in Grampian.
