Information Services Division (ISD) provides aggregated service data at health board level.
Population Health Data
Information Services Division (ISD) provides health information about the population of Scotland to support the NHS in progressing quality improvement in health and care. Data is often published at health board or local authority level, and you may request information for smaller geographical area (e.g. intermediate zones).
Scottish Government Statistics website provides access to a range of statistics on: health, education, poverty, unemployment, housing, population, crime and social/community issues in Scotland. The data is available at a range of different geographic levels.
Scottish Government Health Statistics provides statistics, surveys and reports relating to the health of Scotland’s populations. Links to population surveys both cross-sectional and longitudinal conducted in Scotland.
The Scottish Public Health Observatory aims to provide a clear picture of the health of the Scottish population and the factors that affect it: focusing on routine data on health, risk factors, behaviours and wider health determinants. In general it does not publish new data but provides guidance by pointing users to the most appropriate data sources. It includes a range of interactive online tools, for example profiles that allow users to look at local health indicators and a European indicators database that allows users to compare Scotland and other European countries.
Health Protection Scotland is the national surveillance and co-ordinating centre for responding to communicable diseases and health problems associated with environmental hazards. It provides regular reports on blood borne viruses, STIs, immunisation, vaccine preventable diseases, gastrointestinal & zoonoses, among other conditions.
National Records of Scotland holds information on the registration of births, marriages, civil partnerships, deaths, divorces and adoptions. It publishes information about Scotland’s population and households, including annual population estimates and information about migration and life expectancy.
