Publication and sharing of JSNA findings
The key output of the JSNA evaluation is a summary which describes the data and information considered as part of the assessment, the key findings in relation to the health and wellbeing of the local population, interpretation of what the information means in public health and service provision terms, and what needs to be done to make sure that the local service provision meets the needs of the population. This summary may be presented in a single report, or a suite of reports with figures and tables.
Current Scottish Government Commissioning guidelines state that the format of JSNAs are left to local discretion and as such there is no agreed template. To ensure consistency in the format and content of JSNAs across NHS Grampian a JSNA template has been developed (Appendix D).
Following drafting of a JSNA report it is important to consult with stakeholders to ensure that it accurately reflects a shared understanding of the needs of the local population and how services across all partners can be most effectively utilised to address them.
Work is underway to develop additional web pages describing the population and health characteristics for Grampian and also to explore options for a more automated process for collating and displaying JSNA reports and information.
